After 25 successful years at Newmarket Dental Group Pene has retired from dentistry and is no longer practicing. Pene’s planned retirement process was derailed by the lockdowns and practice restrictions due to the Covid epidemic, and regrets she was unable to advise many of you personally of her plans. We wish Pene all the best in her well-deserved retirement. Newmarket Dental Group remains well placed to meet your dental needs going forward having recently been joined by Neeshah and Adam.
Erin Collins is an Otago graduate practising in Newmarket since 1983 and is a partner in the practice. Erin enjoys all aspects of day to day general dental practice and interaction with his patients. He has a particular interest in the advanced areas of mouth rehabilitation in particular crown and bridge and implant supported restorations.
Outside of clinical dentistry Erin has been active in the New Zealand and Auckland Dental Associations and served on the Dental Council.
Erin is married with three grown up children. His hobbies include golf, fishing and guitar, he is happy to discuss these at any time.
Jane Beca graduated from the University of Otago and has been in private practice since 1983. She joined Newmarket Dental Group and later became a partner in the practice. She has many longstanding patients that she has enjoys treating and is delighted to now welcome their children to the practice and treating the whole family. Jane welcomes new patients of all ages to the practice. As well as general dentistry Jane has a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry. She is skilled in treating children and providing sound advice to the parents on maintaining good dental health.
Jane is married with 3 children and enjoys horse riding, Pilate’s and sailing with the family.
Neeshah is a true blue, born and bred Aucklander. Following her secondary education at St Cuthbert’s College Neeshah moved to Australia to follow her dream of studying dentistry, completing a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry/Master of Dentistry at La Trobe University in Bendigo. Since graduation Neeshah has worked in Shepparton, north of Melbourne where she has gained broad general practice experience working in a large rurally based dental practice. After 8 years in Australia and loving her time in Victoria, Neeshah is returning home to settle down and be closer to her family.
Neeshah’s enthusiasm and compassionate nature for people, motivates her to educate and empower her patients, whilst also ensuring they feel comfortable and understood. She enjoys providing comprehensive and conservative dental treatment with an emphasis on quality. Outside of dentistry Neeshah is an avid tennis fan, having played the sport from childhood and even umpiring for international tournaments. In her spare time, Neeshah also enjoys spending time with friends, sketching and working out at the gym.
Serena Dey has been with Newmarket Dental Group since 2008. She graduated with distinction in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2006. Following this she spent a year working at Middlemore and Greenlane Hospitals where she gained an in depth knowledge of the oral health effects of minor and major medical complaints. Complementing her general practice Serena has developed an interest in orthodontics and provides Invisalign orthodontic treatment. The cornerstone to her clinical practice is developing a trusting and respectful relationship with her patients. Once a treatment plan is decided you can be sure Serena will treat to exacting standards, delivering a wide range of optimal dental treatment without compromise.
Serena welcomes new patients and will provide a thorough examination with carefully planned, individualized treatment using best practice techniques. In her down time Serena enjoys running and cycling with her husband and spending time with her young family.
Originally from Leeds, Adam graduated from the University of Manchester with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Following a foundation year in Manchester Adam practiced in London until emigrating to New Zealand in September. Adam enjoys providing all aspects of dentistry and creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere while providing treatment.
Adam is committed to attending continuing education courses to stay up to date and diploma courses to enhance his skills in providing clear aligner orthodontics and advanced restorative dentistry. In addition to his BDS he has completed the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) Glasgow.
Adam has twice volunteered in the “Jungle” refugee camp in Calais with a charity called Care4Calais. Outside of dentistry Adam is a keen sportsman enjoying cycling and has completed four marathons. He is also an enthusiastic golfer with a creditable handicap of 11.
Leeanne graduated from the University of Otago in 1990 and worked in an Auckland private practice before travelling to London to complete a Master’s degree at the Eastman Dental Institute (University of London) in 1995.
Leeanne remained in London working in a group private practice at Clapham Junction before returning to Auckland in 2003. She joined Newmarket Dental Group in 2006 where she enjoys working in general dentistry.
Leeanne is married with four teenaged children. She enjoys travelling with her family, reading and spending time with her friends.
Julie Shultz started working in the dental industry in 1999 as a dental assistant. In 2000 she went to Otago University to study Dental Hygiene and graduated in 2001 with the National Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Upon completion of her studies she moved back to Auckland and in 2006 she joined the Newmarket Dental Group where she is to this day. Her role as a dental hygienist is to work closely with your dentist, thoroughly clean teeth, provide oral hygiene instruction and monitor gum health to help encourage patients to achieve good oral health in a friendly, informative and caring manner. Julie’s personal interests include: reading, travelling, fitness and spending time with family and friends.
Morgan graduated with a BHSc in Oral Health from AUT University in 2015 and is a registered Oral Health Therapist. She attends CPD courses regularly and keeps up to date with modern treatment advance.
Morgan really enjoys her role in helping patients achieve and maintain healthy teeth and gums, not only with hands-on treatment, but also by educating patients about the importance of taking care of their oral health.
She enjoys interacting with different patients, learning about their experiences and building long lasting relationships. She has a special interest in working with patients who have dental anxiety and trying to make them feel as comfortable as possible in clinic to reach their oral health goals.
Outside of work, Morgan enjoys spending time with friends and family, along with keeping fit.
