Erin Collins is an Otago graduate practising in Newmarket since 1983 and is a partner in the practice. Erin enjoys all aspects of day to day general dental practice and interaction with his patients. He has a particular interest in the advanced areas of mouth rehabilitation in particular crown and bridge and implant supported restorations.
Outside of clinical dentistry Erin has been active in the New Zealand and Auckland Dental Associations and served on the Dental Council.
Erin is married with three grown up children. His hobbies include golf, fishing and guitar, he is happy to discuss these at any time.
Jane Beca graduated from the University of Otago and has been in private practice since 1983. She joined Newmarket Dental Group and later became a partner in the practice. She has many longstanding patients that she has enjoys treating and is delighted to now welcome their children to the practice and treating the whole family. Jane welcomes new patients of all ages to the practice. As well as general dentistry Jane has a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry. She is skilled in treating children and providing sound advice to the parents on maintaining good dental health.
Jane is married with 3 children and enjoys horse riding, Pilate’s and sailing with the family.
Pene Childs received both her dental degree and her post graduate diploma from Otago University. Pene is an extremely skilled clinician and possesses the artistic eye necessary for aesthetic reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry. She is a “meticulous perfectionist” who offers the highest level of skill along with a friendly and engaging personality. She utilizes her post graduate training to treat patients with complex dental problems as well as those patients who are scared of dentistry. Pene puts her patients at ease with her gentle confidence and provides them with the highest level of care and respect. She listens to her patients concerns and needs and is sensitive to each patient’s individual requests.
Serena Dey has been with Newmarket Dental Group since 2008. She graduated with distinction in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2006. Following this she spent a year working at Middlemore and Greenlane Hospitals where she gained an in depth knowledge of the oral health effects of minor and major medical complaints. Complementing her general practice Serena has developed an interest in orthodontics and provides Invisalign orthodontic treatment. The cornerstone to her clinical practice is developing a trusting and respectful relationship with her patients. Once a treatment plan is decided you can be sure Serena will treat to exacting standards, delivering a wide range of optimal dental treatment without compromise.
Serena welcomes new patients and will provide a thorough examination with carefully planned, individualized treatment using best practice techniques. In her down time Serena enjoys running and cycling with her husband and spending time with her young family.
Onnara Lee graduated from the Otago Dental School in 2006. She has since worked in hospital and private settings, both here in NZ and Australia, which has allowed her to hone a wide range of clinical skills, especially oral surgery and root canal treatment. Onnara is skilled in administering intra venous sedation for nervous patients or for those needing wisdom teeth removed. She treats all clients in a friendly and courteous manner.
Onnara is the most recent addition to our team, having started at Newmarket Dental Group in 2017.
Outside of dentistry Onnara enjoys catching up with friends and family, and along with her partner, has 3 dogs that fill their weekends with fun. Onnara is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association.
Leeanne graduated from the University of Otago in 1990 and worked in an Auckland private practice before travelling to London to complete a Master’s degree at the Eastman Dental Institute (University of London) in 1995.
Leeanne remained in London working in a group private practice at Clapham Junction before returning to Auckland in 2003. She joined Newmarket Dental Group in 2006 where she enjoys working in general dentistry.
Leeanne is married with four teenaged children. She enjoys travelling with her family, reading and spending time with her friends.
Julie Shultz started working in the dental industry in 1999 as a dental assistant. In 2000 she went to Otago University to study Dental Hygiene and graduated in 2001 with the National Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Upon completion of her studies she moved back to Auckland and in 2006 she joined the Newmarket Dental Group where she is to this day. Her role as a dental hygienist is to work closely with your dentist, thoroughly clean teeth, provide oral hygiene instruction and monitor gum health to help encourage patients to achieve good oral health in a friendly, informative and caring manner. Julie’s personal interests include: reading, travelling, fitness and spending time with family and friends.
Grace Maguie joined Newmarket Dental Group as a hygienist in 2017. Following graduation from the Otago Dental School in 2009 she has worked as a dental hygienist both here in NZ and in Australia. Grace is skilled in treating active gum disease and follow-up maintenance cleaning appointments. She is very gentle and will guide you to look after your teeth and gums the best you can.
Outside of dentistry Grace enjoys quality time with friends and family, is involved with Show Me Shorts short film festival, and loves seeing theatre. Grace is a member of the New Zealand Dental Hygiene Association.
Morgan graduated with a BHSc in Oral Health from AUT University in 2015 and is a registered Oral Health Therapist. She attends CPD courses regularly and keeps up to date with modern treatment advance.
Morgan really enjoys her role in helping patients achieve and maintain healthy teeth and gums, not only with hands-on treatment, but also by educating patients about the importance of taking care of their oral health.
She enjoys interacting with different patients, learning about their experiences and building long lasting relationships. She has a special interest in working with patients who have dental anxiety and trying to make them feel as comfortable as possible in clinic to reach their oral health goals.
Outside of work, Morgan enjoys spending time with friends and family, along with keeping fit.
