Covid 19, delta variant and restrictions on dental treatment.
We are all concerned to learn of the spread of the delta variant of Covid and the subsequent move to Level 4 restrictions in Auckland. To reduce the risk of spreading the virus the Ministry of Health and the Dental Council have placed significant restrictions on providing dental care, including postponing all routine dental care. We expect to resume routine dental treatment under Level 2 with some conditions in force. We will contact patients with appointments that have been cancelled over the shutdown when we are able to start again.
Under Levels 3and 4 dentists are to avoid face to face contact with patients and to manage dental problems that may arise remotely if possible. Although the practice is unattended at present we are responding to questions and providing advice on problems that may arise.
